ACTION: SUPPORT IMMIGRANT NARRATIVES
With Liberty and Justice for Some is a collaborative exhibition by artists from across the country, who have come together to honor America’s immigrant history. Co-curated by Monica Lundy and Walter Maciel, this exhibition includes the work of over 100 artists who have each contributed an 8×8″ portrait of an immigrant, which were installed together as an installation depicting the American flag. This project was a direct response to our current political climate, and to show support for marginalized communities. A percentage of proceeds from sales go to selected organizations who are currently under attack by the current administration, including: the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, the Center for Reproductive Rights, SF LGBT Center and LA LGBT Center.
“With Liberty and Justice for Some” is on exhibit at Walter Maciel Gallery in LA from 1/7/17 – 3/4/17
